Mr. Charles E. Thomas is a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in family, youth and children’s services. He retired in 2024 after having worked as a Child and Family Specialist Supervisor with NYC Administration for Children Services since 1999. His previous professional experience includes ACS Field Support/Family Home Care Services, Teen Age Services Act (TASA) Program, Child Welfare Administration and Human Resource Administration, Office of Family Services. Mr. Thomas has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from CW Post Long Island University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. He has been recognized for his years of service to the City of New York by every Mayor since Ed Koch, among other professional and outstanding community service awards. Mr. Thomas is a member of the National Organization for The Fatherhood Initiative Program and National Organization for Mentoring Programs, among others. He has special training in cultural diversity, AIDS awareness, mental health services, case management and adoption. Mr. Thomas joined the Board in 2017 and was elected Chair in 2019.
